Center research
offers graduate and undergraduate students an opportunity to
collaborate on projects that complement their fields of study. By
working with faculty and research staff on interdisciplinary projects,
students learn practical skills related to problem identification,
study design, presentation of findings, and interaction with public and
private sector leaders. Students also become well informed about the
particular policy issue being examined. Students pursuing graduate
degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering or Urban and Regional
Planning can obtain a special Transportation Certificate at the time of
graduation. The Certificate is an additional credential that appears on
the student's transcript. To obtain a Transportation Certificate, a
student must complete a series of transportation courses. Specific
courses that must be completed vary between the two participating
departments. The Public Policy Center administers the Certificate
program.
