Transportation policy is of great interest to the business community and all levels of government. Today's more pressing policy issues include traffic congestion, air quality, safety, mobility for disadvantaged groups, maintenance of infrastructure, application of major technological advances, needs associated with new manufacturing techniques, and the role of transportation in making regions economically competitive. Listed are some of the projects that have been or are being carried out by the Transportation Research Program at the Public Policy Center to address these and other key issues. Each project has involved the active participation of a project advisory committee comprised of technical experts, business leaders, members of government organizations, and transportation users.
