The Iowa Women’s Archives is marking a major milestone this year: its 25th anniversary! On Nov. 10-11, 2017 they will celebrate 25 years of gathering and illuminating the history of Iowa women with an open house, gala dinner, and a symposium, "The Iowa Women’s Archives at 25: The Feminist Impulse at Work." The Public Policy Center is a co-sponsor of the celebration.

The events kick off Friday, Nov. 10, with an open house in the Iowa Women's Archives (3rd floor, Main Library). Explore the Archives' exhibition, "25 Collections for 25 Years: Selections from the Iowa Women's Archives," in the Main Library Gallery with curators Kären Mason and Janet Weaver on hand to answer questions and give tours. A gala dinner at the Iowa Memorial Union on Friday evening will feature award-winning Des Moines Register columnist Rekha Basu presenting a talk, "Stand on their Shoulders, But Don't Stop Marching."

All events are open to the public. With the exception of the gala dinner—a ticketed event--all events are free. Please RSVP for the events and the dinner. A full schedule of events and speakers is available here

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Dragana Petic at dragana-petic@uiowa.edu.
