RELAX: TALK: GROW

RELAX: TALK: GROW (RTG) is a networking/policy planning event hosted by the University of Iowa African American Council and the Public Policy Center. RTG combines fellowship, local artists and policy discussions. Addressing the experiences of Iowa City’s black folks both on and off campus, the  runs from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 20 at the Englert Theatre, and features a blend of relaxed socializing, creative performance and targeted conversation. The topic of this month's event is "Keeping Cultural Events Fresh." Panelists include: 

Simeon Talley is a social entrepreneur originally from Columbus, OH and now living in Iowa. He first came to Iowa to work in politics as part of the Obama 2008 caucus campaign. He is the co-founder of Flyover Fest, a fashion, politics and culture festival that takes place in Iowa City on April 27-28. 

 

 

 

Aura Strohschein began studying piano at 8 years old.  She recently completed her DMA from the University of Iowa. As a performer and teacher, Strohschein integrates her faith and knowledge of trauma so that music may become a vehicle for healing.
