Stacey Abrams: Assuring Free and Fair Elections in 2020

November 4, 2019
5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Iowa Memorial Union (IMU) Main Lounge

The Public Policy Center is pleased to support this event as part of our Run Up to the Caucus series.

Stacey Abrams lost a tightly contested battle for Georgia Governor amid controversy over voters' access to the polls. She has since founded Fair Fight 2020 with the aim of assuring free and fair elections. Join us for Stacey's presentation, along with a campus and community dialogue about the state of voter rights going into the 2020 U.S. presidential election.

This event is in commemoration of the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage and the right to vote, and is hosted by the University of Iowa and League of Women Voters of Johnson County, and co-sponsored by the UI Lecture Committee; University Libraries; Tippie College of Business; College of Liberal Arts and Science; Department of Political Science; Department of History; Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies; UI Student Government; Kirkwood Community College; and the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies.

The event begins at 5:30 in the IMU Main Lounge.
