    PPC Researcher and Assistant Professor, Department of Economics in the College of Business David Frisvold, will present at one of the Diabetes and Obesity Talks, sponsored by the Fraternal Order of Eagles Diabetes Research Center and the UI Obesity Research and Education Initiative.  Frisvold's topic is Food Pricing and School-Based Interventions to Reduce Childhood Obesity.  The talk will take place at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, March 5 in 1289 CBRB (Kelch).  A light lunch will be served.

    Betsy Sinclair will present a network analysis workshop on Monday, March 3rd. The workshop will be a short course to introduce interested students and faculty to the basic elements of network analysis and to illustrate how it can provide an alternative to commonly used methods.

    The workshop is sponsored by GAPS (Graduate Association of Political Scientists), Department of Political Science, Department of Sociology, and the Public Policy Center.

    Hosted by the Department of Political Science, the Public Policy Center, and the Obermann Center for Advanced Studies, this one day conference will include papers focused on economic inequality and other public policy disparities. Guest speakers include Benjamin Page (Northwestern University) and Nathan Kelly (University of Tennessee), as well UI faculty from a number of departments.  Breakfast and lunch will be served for all attendees.
