Donna Hoffman is Associate Professor and head of the Department of Political Science at the University of Northern Iowa. She earned her PhD in Political Science at the University of Oklahoma. Professor Hoffman teaches courses in Congress, the presidency, and campaigns & elections. Her research interests are in the area of American politics and include presidential rhetoric, electoral behavior, and congressional-presidential relations. Hoffman is the co-author of Addressing the State of the Union: The Evolution and Impact of the President’s Big Speech. In addition, her research has appeared in PS: Political Science and Politics, American Behavioral Scientist, Social Science Quarterly, and Political Research Quarterly.
