Joe Jongewaard

As a project manager for the Iowa Department of Economic Development, Joe Jongewaard helped five companies that manufacture wind generation equipment choose Iowa locations for their expansions. These companies collectively have committed to creating over 1,500 well paying green collar jobs and over $230 million investment in the state. Mr. Jongewaard received his BS from Iowa State University, where he majored in Economics with an emphasis on workforce development. His public service includes serving as State Administrator for Senator Tom Harkin. He was the coordinator of strategic planning for Des Moines Public Schools $300 million building renovation program and local option sales tax effort. He also worded as the assistant to the Director of the Iowa Department of Public Health and was the Outreach Coordinator for Governor Vilsack and Lieutenant Pederson prior to joining the Department of Economic Development.
