Kristine Hennings

As the director of Hy-Vee's benefits department, Kristine oversees all employee wellness programs, as well as the administration of medical, dental, disability and life insurance benefits for over 31,000 lives, as well as comprehensive health and wellness program initiatives for more than 50,000 Hy-Vee associates. These initiatives have not only positively impacted employees but have stabilized and/or reduced benefits costs. Ms. Hennings is a graduate of Simpson College. She started with Hy-Vee in its retail operations in 2004 and oversaw management development training programs at the corporate office before moving in to Human Resources. Her experience allows her to create programs that are flexible, convenient and applicable to employees working in a retail environment. Ms. Hennings speaks frequently on the importance of worksite wellness within the industry and is active in the community, serving on the Prevent Blindness IA Board of Directors, the Des Moines Partnership on Health Committee, and on Polk 2020.
