Bio

Teresa Eliopoulos joined the Achieve staff in May 2011 and currently serves as Senior Program Associate, Science Initiatives. As part of the Science Initiatives team, Teresa manages the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) Network and supports states on adoption and implementation of the NGSS. Previously she worked on the development of the NGSS and managed the Earth and Space Science development team. While NGSS is her focus, Teresa has also supported other projects at Achieve, including working with states to facilitate the development of instructional materials that integrated content from both the Common Core State Standards in Mathematics and Career Technical Education (CTE).


Prior to joining Achieve, Teresa has had experiences across the policy arena including focusing on education and veteran’s affairs at a DC lobbying group, and working in the Senate Office of Hillary Clinton [D], New York, and serving as a case administrator for the DC Bankruptcy Court.


A native of upstate New York, Teresa holds a Master of Public Policy from American University, where she focused on education and social policy, and a Bachelor’s degree in Law and Policy from Dickinson College in Carlisle, Pennsylvania.
