Bio

Thomas Wright is executive director of studies at The Chicago Council on Global Affairs. In this capacity, he directs the Council’s research on topics ranging from national energy policy and climate change to transatlantic relations and the strategic implications of the financial crisis. Previously, Dr. Wright served as a senior researcher for the “Princeton Project on National Security,” a multi‐year bipartisan project of Princeton University’s Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs. Dr. Wright has a PhD in international relations from Georgetown University, an M Phil in international studies from Cambridge University, and a BA from University College Dublin. He has held research fellowships at Harvard University and Princeton University, and has lectured at Princeton University and the Harris School at the University of Chicago. His work has appeared in the American Political Science Review, the Washington Post, The Washington Quarterly, the International Herald Tribune, and a number of international newspapers.
