World Climate Simulation
In celebration of Earth Week, the Public Policy Center hosted a World Climate Simulation. The World Climate Simulation is a role-playing exercise of the UN climate change negotiations for groups. It is unique in that it uses an interactive computer model to rapidly analyze the results of the mock-negotiations during the event.
Audience members participated in the negotiations and were assigned to one of six delegations. The goal of the negotiations was to propose policies that would reduce carbon emissions and prevent ocean temperatures from rising more than 2 degrees Celsius, the goal of the Paris Agreement. Although the group ultimately fell short of the goal, they came within one degree.
The event was free and open to the public.
