Grant To Study e-Health Information Technology

The PPC’s Health Policy Research Program has received a grant to study the current and potential uses of Health Information Technologies (HIT) by five types of health care providers in Iowa. Together with the Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH), Pete Damiano, Jean Willard and Ki Park will assess the current uses of HIT by home health agencies, pharmacies, medical laboratories, radiology centers, and long term care facilities. Researchers will collaborate with an external advisory committee and content experts for the providers. Results will help providers plan as integrated HIS and Health Insurance Exchanges are developed in the next few years.
