In a recent op-ed in the Gazette, PPC director Peter Damiano looks past the political rhetoric of health care reform to consider what the new law will mean for the people of Iowa and the nation. While the law does have the potential to improve financial access to care for approximately 32 million Americans, it still faces some significant challenges, including how to keep the price of policies affordable and how to ensure there will be enough doctors to deal with the increase in insured patients.
