First Social Science Interdisciplinary Colloquium Features Grant Support Center

Professor Karen Heimer hosted the first Social Science Interdisciplinary Group (SSIG) colloquium featuring the activities of the Iowa Social Science Research Center (ISRC) and the Hawkeye Poll. ISRC Staff provided an overview of the center’s services, which include identifying funding sources, developing, reviewing, and critiquing proposals, and preparing grant budgets, as well as assistance with data collection and management and a fully staffed call center to conduct surveys. Frederick Boehmke, Associate Professor in Political Science and Faculty Advisor for the Hawkeye Poll, discussed how the Hawkeye Poll contributes to the teaching mission of the university.
