Damiano Quoted about Supreme Court ACA Decision
PPC Health Policy Program Director Peter Damiano was four blocks from the White House at a health care strategic planning meeting at The Commonwealth Fund on the day of the Supreme Court's historic decision on the Affordable Care Act. Damiano indicated that the tenor of the planning meeting was primarily shock when the decision in support of the individual mandate was announced. Over the next few days, an Iowa City local newspaper, The Press-Citizen, requested quotations from Damiano in regards to the decision.
As a public policy health expert, Damiano was asked about how this decision would affect uninsured Iowans in the article, "Eyes now turn to making it happen". In a Press-Citizen editorial piece, "Our view: Iowa should go forward with setting up health insurance exchange", Damiano noted that the implementation and timing will factor into determine how successful the ACA will be for Americans.
