Body

Human factors and vehicle safety director Daniel McGehee was invited to join Ben Kieffer, host of Iowa Public Radio's talk show program "River to River," in a wide ranging discussion about improving driving safety in Iowa and traffic pet-peeves. McGehee joined Shauna Hallmark, associate director at the Institute for Transportation at Iowa State University, and Iowa State Representative Walt Rogers from the 20th District in the conversation.

Topics included: the pros and cons of installing red light cameras in various Iowa cities and towns, the increased installations of roundabouts in place of stop signs and traffic lights, driving in snowy and rainy weather, texting while driving, the usage of headlights and blinkers, and crashes on rural roads.
