Kuthy and Reynolds Serve on Dental Workforce Committee

Ray Kuthy and Julie Reynolds participated as members of an ad hoc committee studying the labor market analysis of Iowa’s dental workforce. Delta Dental of Iowa Foundation, Iowa Dental Board, and the Iowa Workforce Development also sent representatives to the January 27 meeting in Johnston to learn more about the existing provider resources and to discuss gaps in the existing knowledge base about the dental workforce in Iowa. Discussion at the meeting centered on dental hygienists, including the perceived mal-distribution around the state and some market conditions that exist (i.e., working for more than one dental office).
