Iowa Paves the Way in Driverless Car Testing

Last week, Johnson County became one of the first in the nation to welcome automated vehicles to its roads.  Ideal for its varied weather, open roads, and being home to the National Advanced Driving Simulator on the University of Iowa's Oakdale campus, Iowa will become the testing grounds for driverless cars.

Human Factors and Vehicle Safety Director Dan McGehee took Channel 2 (KGAN) reporters for a spin last week in Human Resources Coordinator Sarah Banks' automated Ford Explorer to demonstrate its capabilities.  To see the interview and read more about it, click here.
