Dr. Corinne Peek-Asa, Professor of Occupational and Environmental Health, Director of the University of Iowa Injury Prevention Research Center and Researcher in the PPC's Transportation and Vehicle Safety Program, was part of a team that created HEAR, a web toolkit to combat bullying.

The acronym HEAR stands for Helping Educators Use Art to Reduce Bullying.  The project stemmed from a play by Working Group Theatre called "Out of Bounds".  The toolkit includes writing, acting and other artistic activities to help children grades Kindergarten through 12 to learn how to deal with bullying.  Researchers believe that this more artistic approach is more effective than more traditional classroom-based methods.
