Iowa driving the way for autonomous vehicles

Some Iowa officials -- including those in economic development and state transportation -- have taken steps recently to position the state to be a leader in autonomous cars. Dan McGehee, Director of the Transportation and Vehicle Safety Policy Research Program in the Public Policy Center, recently spoke with The Gazette a about Iowa's role in autonomous vehicle research. 

McGehee is also Director of the National Advanced Driving Simulator and associate professor of mechanical and industrial engineering, emergency medicine, and public health.
