Askelson to direct study on HPV vaccine disparities in rural areas

Natoshia Askelson, assistant professor of community and behavioral health in the UI College of Public Health and researcher in the PPC's Health Policy Research Program, will direct a study on disparities in adolescent immunizations for the Human Papillomavirus in rural areas. The project is being funded by the National Cancer Institute through the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center. Other partners include the Iowa Primary Care Association, Iowa Department of Public Health, American Cancer Society, and local public health agencies.
