The State of Working Iowa, 2007

The State of Working Iowa 2007 (the fourth installment in our biennial series) examines our recent economic experience from the perspective of working Iowans and their families. As with previous installments, this report uses the latest available data (drawn from a range of state and federal sources) to assess the economic fortunes and prospects of working Iowans – against our own recent history, against the performance of our Midwestern peers, and against national trends. Of particular interest, as we mark Labor Day 2007, is how Iowans fared across the recent business cycle, a roughly six-year period encompassing the recession of 2001-2003 and the recovery of 2003-present.
