American Association of University Women Lecture by Damiano

Dr. Peter Damiano, PPC Director and health care reform expert, joined a group of panelists chosen the American Association of University Women to discuss Medicare, Medicaid and health care laws on October 1, at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA.

The forum titled, "Women at Risk: These 10 Historic Laws Are Threatened" was held in the Daehler Kitchins Auditorium in Marquis Hall on the Coe College campus. Libby Slappey moderatd the discussion. Other panelists included Maxine Lampe, AAUW of Iowa President, Katherine Smith of Linn County Public Health, and Liz Hoskins of Waypoint Programs for Women and Children. Panelists discussed laws such as the Affordable Care Act and the Violence Against Women Act with regard to how those laws are under threat and what this means for women. 

The forum was sponsored by the Cedar Rapids Branch of the American Association of University Women.
