The Evolution of Representation in One Congressional District

October 11, 2021
2:00 PM – 3:15 PM
Iowa Memorial Union, 347 Old Capitol Room

The PPC is proud to co-sponsor this event with the School of Planning and Public Affairs.

Dave Loebsack served as the U.S. Representative for Iowa's 2nd congressional district from 2007 to 2021. He is a member of the Democratic Party.

Prior to serving in the U.S. Congress, he taught Political Science at Cornell College in Mount Vernon.

He will talk about representation in his district, beginning with his first campaign and resultant victory, and ending with how the district was transformed by the Trump presidency. He will focus on how he decided to best represent his constituents, given the significant transformations of the district over time.

Individuals with disabilities are encouraged to attend all University of Iowa-sponsored events. If you are a person with a disability who requires an accommodation in order to participate in this program, please contact Dragana Petic at dragana-petic@uiowa.edu.
