A House Divided: What's Wrong with Our Politics?

April 9, 2019
6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
Big Grove Brewery and Taproom, 1225 S Gilbert St, Iowa City

Everyone is invited to the public conversation “A House Divided: What’s Wrong with Our Politics?” on Tuesday, April 9th from 6 – 8 pm at Big Grove Brewery in Iowa City (1225 S Gilbert St). Scott Samuelson and David McMahon, professors at Kirkwood Community College, will lead a nonpartisan discussion about the outrage and division preventing our country from making progress on urgent political problems. To what extent is it out-of-touch political parties, the outsize influence of special interests, sensationalized news, spectator politics, or social media? To what extent is the problem them? To what extent is the problem us? What can we do to make our politics work? The national conversation isn’t going to take place on Twitter or Facebook. It’s going to take place over beer.
