ISRC Workshop: Python Basics II: Functions, External Libraries, File I/O

October 25, 2018
12:30 PM – 1:45 PM
C208 Pappajohn Business Building

In the third workshop, we will finish the basics with: (i) functions; (ii) installing and using external libraries; (iii) file I/O. We will learn how to write functions in Python to build reusable code blocks. Then we introduce the usage of external libraries. Specifically, we will cover Numpy, Scipy, Matplotlib, and Pandas. Some examples will be shown. Finally, we will use these libraries to read/write files to local disk. Please bring your own laptop for hands-on exercise and practice.
