Johnson County League of Women Voters Legislative Forum

The Social and Education Policy Research program will sponsor the first of three Legislative Forums hosted by the League of Women Voters of Johnson County (LWVJC) in January, February and March. The forums provide an opportunity for dialogue between legislators and their constituents in Johnson County. The forum will run from 9:30-11:30 a.m., and will focus on education. Senators Joe Bolkcom, Zach Wahls and Kevin Kinney, and Representatives David Jacoby, Bob Kaufmann, Vicki Lensing, Amy Nielsen and Mary Mascher have been invited.

The forum will be moderated by Hazel Seaba, League member. Legislators will each have an opportunity to give a five minute introductory statement. Questions will begin with one from the League followed by one from each sponsoring organization. Questions will then be opened to members of the audience. All questions and responses will be timed, one minute for each question, with a two minute response from each legislator. The forum will be taped and shown on Iowa City, Coralville, and North Liberty public television stations (see respective websites for times). It will also be live-streamed on LWVJC Facebook page.
