March 3, 2014
8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
S207 Pappajohn Business Building (PBB)

Betsy Sinclair will present a network analysis workshop on Monday, March 3rd. The workshop will be a short course to introduce interested students and faculty to the basic elements of network analysis and to illustrate how it can provide an alternative to commonly used methods.

The workshop is sponsored by GAPS (Graduate Association of Political Scientists), Department of Political Science, Department of Sociology, and the Public Policy Center.

Betsy Sinclair is an Associate Professor of political science at Washington University in St. Louis. Her research interests are located in American politics and political methodology with an emphasis on individual political behavior. She focuses on the social foundations of participatory democracy -- the ways in which social networks influence voting, donating, choosing a candidate or identifying with a particular party. Her other interests are broadly defined as those involving voting and elections and range from evaluating the consequences of different voting technologies to developing techniques to draw additional causal inferences in randomized field experiments.
