VIDEO: Human Rights and COVID-19 Webinar

The University of Iowa Center for Human Rights presented "Human Rights and COVID-19: How Human Rights Helps us Understand the Pandemic and Our Responses to it" on Wednesday, April 8.

This online panel discussion explored how human rights might provide a useful framework for examining the COVID-19 crisis as well as the major human rights considerations in the responses to it from the perspectives of public health, legal, and public policy professionals.


Panelists included:

  • Dr. Brian Farrell, Associate Director of UI Center for Human Rights
  • Dr. Peter Damiano, Director of the UI Public Policy Center
  • Dr. Rima Afifi, Professor and Interim Director of the UI Department of Community and Behavioral Health
