The University of Iowa feels it is important to provide students, faculty and staff with an understanding of the complexities of challenging public policy issues from varying perspectives. To further this mission, the Public Policy Center and the College of Law, in collaboration with the Iowa Board of Regents, are convening a series of moderated discussions among respected experts, policymakers and advocates with different perspectives on significant public policy issues of urgent public interest.

The purpose of the series is to highlight divergent but compelling voices from varying perspectives of important issues impacting public policy, and demonstrate to our state and the world that difficult issues can be discussed and debated openly. The topics for this fall include: Free Speech and Social Media (Sept 22), The Future of the Democratic Party (Oct 14), and The Future of the Republican Party (Nov 10).

These events are free and open to the public. For those not able to attend in person, the events will be both live-streamed and archived on the Public Policy Center website.
