Ethan M Rogers

Ethan Rogers provides administrative oversight of the daily research and engagement operations of the PPC, in coordination with the director. He also supports research activities of PPC program participants. Ethan joined the PPC in 2017, and served as an assistant research scientist from 2020 to 2023.    

Ethan's research is primarily focused on criminology, health, and criminal justice policy. A core area of Rogers’ work focuses on interpersonal disputes and violence. He has published several findings on the individual and situational factors associated with the escalation of conflict and the victim-offender overlap. His work on interpersonal disputes and violence can be found in high impact criminology journals, including Criminology, Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency, Aggressive Behavior, British Journal of Criminology. He is currently studying the extent to which homicide booms, including the increase since 2014, are concentrated among demographic groups and geographic places. A second core area of Rogers’ work examines the health consequences of adverse stressors across the life course. His research on the link between incarceration and accelerated biological aging has been published in the Journal of Health and Social Behavior and Social Science and Medicine. He is currently collaborating with a research team to examine the health effects of adverse childhood experiences. In future projects, the research team aims to identify the potential sources of resilience.
