Research in this area is concerned with the effectiveness of public policies designed to reduce crime including cognitive behavioral therapy programs, targeted policing efforts, alternative sentencing models. Researchers have also studied racial disparities in criminal justice processing. This area of research is often supported by partnerships with state and federal criminal justice agencies.
