Public Policy Center Establishes the Forkenbrock Series on Public Policy
The Forkenbrock
Series will provide a forum for dialogue about policy
areas from an applied, academic, and interdisciplinary perspective. The
series was established in honor of David Forkenbrock, Founding Director of the Public Policy Center and a nationally
recognized transportation researcher. To launch the series, a symposium focused on Transportation Finance and Economics: Policy Options for the Future will take place September 11-12, 2008, in Iowa City, IA.

Iowa Children and Health Insurance
A new report from the PPC Health Research Program has found that the rate of uninsured children in Iowa has fallen to 3% (down from 6% in 2000). Results indicate that the improvement is due to the growth of Medicaid and hawk-i enrollment.
