Public Finance researcher Phuong Nguyen has been awarded the 2012 Jean Flanigan Outstanding Dissertation Award by the Association for Education Finance & Policy (AEFP). Dr. Nguyen's dissertation explores education policies and finance issues in three locations.

Tougher Licensing Laws Save Lives
Dan McGehee was invited by the Des Moines Register to comment on a study released by the Allstate Foundation that looks at teen driver licensing laws in Iowa. The study found that stricter regulations could have saved 32 young lives and $200 million in 2009.
