    Environmental policy researcher, Scott Spak, co-presented at the Iowa Environmental Health Association's Fall Conference with Douglas Beardsley, the director of Johnson County Public Health and the Associate Director of Environmental Health Programs at the State Hygienic Laboratory. The conference was held in Marshalltown, IA at the Best Western Regency Inn.

    Human Factors program director Daniel McGehee was featured on the Iowa Public Radio talk show, "River to River" Friday, October 16. McGehee spoke with host Ben Kieffer about his recent research project that will attempt to save lives by training Emergency Medical Service (EMS) personnel with a new mobile app that will take photos of crashed vehicles and send them to hospital emergency personnel within 30 seconds.

    Dr. Peter Damiano, director of the Public Policy Center, presented at the Geneva Campus Ministry lunch forum on Friday, October 12, 2012, at 12:00pm. Dr. Damiano presented some of the moral and ethical challenges facing policymakers as they debate how to improve health and healthcare in the United States. He also discussed some of the personal challenges facing academic researchers as they seek to do unbiased research while studying questions with strong moral implications.
