Bio

David C. Wheelock is an assistant vice president and economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, where he has been employed since 1993. Before joining the Federal Reserve, Dr. Wheelock was on the faculty of the Department of Economics at the University of Texas at Austin, and a visiting scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis. Dr. Wheelock has written numerous articles on banking and monetary policy issues for professional journals and Federal Reserve publications. In addition, he is the author of The Strategy and Consistency of Federal Reserve Monetary Policy, 1924-1933, published by Cambridge University Press in 1991. Dr. Wheelock received his B.S. degree from Iowa State University, and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Illinois.
