David Jacoby

State Representative Dave Jacoby is the University of Iowa's Public Relations Outreach Coordinator on the SE Iowa STEM Region team, and in February 2014 was named the Environmental and Public Health Ambassador for the State Hygienic Laboratory.

Jacoby represents Coralville in the Iowa House of Representatives, where the lab is located.  He is a long-time proponent of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education.  His past experience includes Program Director of Workforce Initiatives, specializing in youth employment and training, at Kirkwood Community College for 23 years.  Kirkwood recently opened a Regional Center at the University of Iowa — one of six regional STEM hubs established through the governor’s STEM council.
