Attorney General Tom Miller is serving in his seventh four-year term as Attorney General of Iowa. He is a graduate of Loras College in Dubuque, and Harvard Law School. Tom Miller was the lead Attorney General in the nation’s two largest consumer fraud mortgage cases. Consumers nationwide received $484 million in the Household Finance case, and $295 million in the Ameriquest case; in both cases, the companies were required to make major changes in their conduct. He is the founder of the Iowa Foreclosure Hotline, and his office is a leader in the Iowa Mortgage Help program. General Miller also is leading the State Foreclosure Prevention Working Group, the goal of which is to work with the largest servicers of subprime mortgages to avoid as many unnecessary foreclosures as possible.
