FIRE

The Human Factors Research Program at the UI Public Policy Center announces the Fall 2012 Human Factors Focused Interdisciplinary Research Exchange (FIRE).

The FIRE sessions are intended to help attendees acquaint themselves with the broad range of campus-wide human factors-related research. We also hope to generate new interdisciplinary collaborations and to explore/discuss new funding opportunities.

Here is how it works:

FIRE meetings will be 90-minute brown bag lunch sessions in the PPC seminar room (200 South Quad). Faculty, staff and students may present current research in condensed, (strict) three-minute, three-slide presentations—or present a haiku on your research. We challenge you to beat the buzzer. There will be 10-15 presentations per FIRE session, followed by a 40-minute discussion on where the research presented might fit with other campus research activities.

Presentations need not be from funded activities and can cover intellectual interests that may be in search of funding or collaborators.

If you are interested in presenting, please email your presentation title(s) to daniel-mcgehee@uiowa.edu

Students are encouraged to take this opportunity to present and get their research heard.
