Transportation and Vehicle Safety Policy Director Dan McGehee was featured in a recent WalletHub study that identified 2015's best and worst states for teen drivers.  The study was designed to help parents ensure their teens’ safety behind the wheel and safeguard their finances against unforeseeable events. The number of teen driver fatalities, the average cost of car repairs, and the presence of impaired-driving laws were all considered. The study ranks New York as the best state for teen drivers, and South Dakota as the worst.  Iowa ranked number 39 in the findings.

McGehee spoke to the biggest risks teen drivers face, tips for parents with teen drivers, and recommendations for policymakers.  To view his comments and read the results of the study, click here.
