U.S. Senator Ben Sasse Offers Perspectives on Foreign Policy

Body

On Thursday, October 25, the University of Iowa Lecture Committee hosted U.S. Senator Ben Sasse of Nebraska, and the PPC co-sponsored the event. Ben Kieffer of Iowa Public Radio moderated a Question and Answer discussion following Sasse's talk.

Sasse's lecture, titled "American Order and Disorder, at Home and Abroad," offered a historical reflection on U.S. successes and failures in war and peace-keeping. He acknowledged that while the democratic system is broken, foreign policy should be a bipartisan issue and that the United States must find a way to maintain its position as a world leader.
