Andrew Ghattas is a research scientist at the Health Policy Research Program at the University of Iowa Public Policy Center, and currently works with Elizabeth Momany and Natoshia Askelson. He received his Ph.D. in biostatistics from the UI in 2017. His field of research is statistical imaging, primarily medical imaging and the growing need for algorithms used to estimate the contours of tumors. His work focused on the development and implementation of simulation and statistical based tools, useful in the validation of such algorithms. He has an extensive background in statistical consulting, statistical imaging, simulation-based analysis, predictive/explanatory modeling, and high-dimensional data analysis. Gattas is currently involved in the PPC's evaluation of Iowa's Medicaid expansion, where he focuses on utilization of incentivized preventative care services.
