Raymond Kuthy

  • Professor, Preventive and Community Dentistry


Dr. Kuthy joined the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1999. He served as head of the Department of Preventive and Community Dentistry from 1999 to 2006. Dr. Kuthy is a past president of the American Board of Public Health. Dr. Kuthy is a consultant for the Association of State and Territorial Dental Directors. He is the recipient of a number of national awards, including the President's Award of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (1997), Distinguished Service Award of the American Association of Public Health Dentistry (2016) and the Exemplary Service Award from the Chief Dental Officer, U.S. Public Health Service (1995). In 2007 he received the Boston University Distinguished Alumni Award. Dr. Kuthy is a member of the Iowa Dental Association, AcademyHealth, the American Association for Dental Research, the American Association of Public Health Dentistry, and the American Dental Association.
