The 2010 IHHS - Oral Health in Children in Iowa

The results in this brief represent information for the 820,000 children in Iowa. Oral health is an important but sometimes overlooked component of total health. At the request of the Bureau of Oral and Health Delivery Systems, housed at the Iowa Department of Public Health, oral health was included as an area of emphasis for the 2010 Iowa Child and Family Household Health Survey (IHHS). This policy brief provides statewide results about a series of issues from the IHHS related to the oral health of children and adolescents ages 0-17 years in Iowa. An overview of the results is presented in this report; many other noteworthy statistics can be found in the tables accompanying the report.
