Housing Affordability in Iowa Counties: Cost-burden Trends 1990-2010

The 1990-2000 was a decade of extraordinary economic prosperity for the United States. However, in the next decade, 2000-2010, the country went throughthe worst recession since the Great Depression. These economic trends had significant impacts on housing markets and people’s incomes, all over the country and within the state of Iowa. This report discusses trends of housing affordability in all 99 Iowa counties.
