Juvenile Delinquency

In this line of research, Heimer and her colleagues study the social factors that increase the chances of juvenile delinquency. This work examines family, peer and neighborhood influences, and tests and extends theories of delinquency. Papers in this line focus particularly on differences and similarities across gender, race and social class. Much of this work has been collaborative with Stacy De Coster, of North Carolina State University.
