Kate Walton

Kate Walton serves as the Policy Director for Governor Chet Culver and Lt. Governor Patty Judge. She joined the Governor’s staff in April of 2008, serving as a policy advisor on Health and Human Services issues as well as the Governor’s Office Liaison to the Iowa Senate. She was named Policy Director in August of 2009. Prior to joining the Governor’s staff, Ms. Walton worked as the Legislative Liaison to the Department of Human Services, Vice President of Government and Public Relations at Orchard Place and did consulting work on a number of projects, including the American Medical Association’s Voice for the Uninsured campaign. Her work experience also includes time with the national Democratic Party in Washington, DC, and as a staff member for Senator Tom Harkin.
