The Public Policy Center is proud to co-sponsor this Earth Month event hosted by the Hubbell Environmental Law Initiative (HELI).

Author and Professor John Leshy discusses his new book, Our Common Ground: A History of America's Public Lands, on April 4, 2023. Professor Leshy's talk highlights the main themes of this history and lessons it offers for dealing with contemporary challenges like climate change, biodiversity loss, and the dramatic increase in visitation. Welcoming Remarks will be given by UI College of Law Dean Kevin Washburn.

John Leshy is the Emeritus Distinguished Professor at University of California College of Law San Francisco. Leshy went to UC Law SF in the fall of 2021, after serving as Solicitor (General Counsel) of the U.S. Department of the Interior throughout the Clinton Administration.
