The Transportation and Vehicle Safety Research Program will host international expert, Dr. Ioni Lewis, a Senior Research Fellow at the Centre for Accident Research and Road Safety - Queensland (CARRS-Q) at Queensland University of Technology (QUT).  Dr. Lewis will be presenting, "The Role and Effectiveness of Advertising Countermeasures in Road Safety: A Review of Some Key Findings."

During her PhD, Dr. Lewis examined factors which influenced the effectiveness of advertising countermeasures in road safety.  Her PhD program of research was informed by, and well-grounded within, social psychological frameworks or persuasion and health behavior change.  The important role of theory to guide message design and evaluation remains a key focus in Dr. Lewis's research.  

This presentation, "The Role and Effectiveness of Advertising Countermeasures in Road Safety: A Review of Some Key Findings," will be held Friday, May 1, 2015, at the Public Policy Center, in room 200, in Iowa City.  This event is FREE and open to the public, but we ask that you register before Wednesday, April 29, 2015, to be guaranteed lunch.
