Inequality Seminar: Making College Affordable: Adventures in Scholar-Activism

Sarah Goldbrick-Rab will present "Making College Affordable: Adventures in Scholar-Activism" from 2-3:20 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13 in W113 Seashore Hall. 

In this talk, sociologist Goldrick-Rab will discuss scholar-activism, a form of public sociology. She will draw on her experiences as a scholar-activist work on the sociology of higher education and in particular on studying ways to make college more affordable. Topics will include: using scholar-activism to address social inequality, scholar-activism and professional standards, and scholar-activism in the age of Trump. 

The Inequality Seminar is a seminar and speaker series that provides a forum on campus for faculty and graduate students who are interested in inequality broadly defined. It is an opportunity for faculty and graduate students to present their research and to hear about other inequality-related work from researchers on and off-campus.
